Managing Partner, Gareth Pugh, has more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. He has managed several prestigious UK hotels, including Llangoed Hall, Hunstrete House near Bath, Stonehouse Court in the Cotswolds and the Royal Crescent, Bath. In 1997, he purchased the Painswick Hotel in Gloucestershire, winning awards including Country House Hotel of the Year, an RAC Blue Ribbon and two AA Rosettes for Fine Dining.

Painswick Hotel, Gloucestershire - Managing Director and Owner,19 bedroom country house purchased in 1997, the hotel gained the reputation as one of the top privately owned hotels in the UK. Turnover rose consistently despite one of the most difficult trading periods of the Hotel Industry. Awards achieved:

Llangoed Hall, Powys - Director/General Manager, Peerless within Wales and regarded as one of the top Country House Hotels in the UK it achieved Michelin Star status and won the AA hotel of the Year. During the time at Llangoed Hall the hotel was marketed extensively within the USA and Japan with great success. Owned by Sir Bernard Ashley (of Laura Ashley fame) the hotel underwent an extensive capital expenditure programme creating a dedicated conference and banqueting area.

Hunstrete House Hotel, Bath - General Manager, Idyllic country house hotel operating at the luxury end of the market. This leisure based property became the flagship of the Clipper Group during a difficult trading period. However through a detailed sales campaign it was able to remain a market leader.

Stonehouse Court Hotel, Gloucestershire – General Manager, 35 bedroom country house hotel on the edge of the Cotswolds. Ideally suited for corporate and wedding functions it became the group leading venue for conferencing and exclusive receptions. Within these key markets we achieved high sales volume and outperformed the profit benchmarks within the group.

Royal Crescent Hotel, Bath - Deputy General Manager, Exclusive town house hotel, considered to be the finest in the UK. A high attention to detail with great service was expected as a member of Leading Hotels of the World along with satisfying the demands from a high profile client base.

Selsdon Park Hotel, Surrey – House Manager150 bedroom hotel with extensive sporting, conference and banqueting facilities. Operationally responsible for all aspects front of house delivering great customer service whist producing an exceptional occupancy.
